Our Mission

From our founder:

I had just finished singing at a nursing home for a service hours event. I immediately called up my mother, frantically blurting out how much love and gratification I had gotten from singing for the seniors and how beautifully they had connected with our group. That’s when it dawned on me: I wanted to continue to bring smiles onto seniors and students through the connecting strings of music. This was the foundation of Songbirds For Seniors, a volunteer organization with the purpose of giving back to seniors through song and performance. Back then, we were nestled in one nest. Now, we have learned how to fly. Our Songbirds are now nested across the nation - in Boca, FL; Davie, FL; Miami, FL; Seattle, WA; New York, NY;  and San Carlos, CA. And we won’t stop there. The Songbirds will continue to spread our wings and message, touching the lives of seniors throughout the United States. Our overarching goal with this volunteer organization is to create dozens of chapters across America, allowing us to make as much of an impact as possible. From my own experience, I would never want my Holocaust-surviving grandparents to feel alone, as many seniors can often end up feeling in residential nursing homes. We are here to spread love and hope — we are here to make a change, one song at a time. Become a Songbird now, and remember - even a single heart touched is an entire world impacted.
